When Will the User See the Contact Message?
When you sign up and begin a test chat on the Testing Page, you may notice that the AI repeatedly responds with the same message. This response is known as the Contact Message, which you can customize in the Appearance.
Why Does the AI Respond with the Contact Message?
The Contact Message appears when you start using the AI without adding any data sources. By default, the AI operates in Combined Mode, which relies on both built-in knowledge and user-provided data. If no data source has been added, the AI defaults to responding with your set Contact Message as it has no other content to draw upon.
How to Enable More Dynamic Responses
For the AI to provide more tailored and logical responses—including engaging in small talk—you need to add at least one data source. This ensures that the Combined Mode has the necessary information to function effectively.
Alternative Option: General Data Mode
If you prefer not to add a data source but still want the AI to provide relevant responses, switch to General Data Mode. In this mode, the AI responds based on its own knowledge, bypassing the need for custom data sources.
Customizing the Contact Message
You can set up your own Contact Message in the Appearance. This message will also be used as a fallback response in Your Own Data Mode when the AI cannot find relevant information in your data source.
