Cato Return Policy: Hassle-Free Returns and Extended Holiday Return Policy

Cato values customer satisfaction and offers a straightforward return policy. This policy ensures that customers enjoy a smooth shopping experience, whether shopping in-store or online.

General Return Policy

If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase from Cato, you can return it within 60 days of the original purchase date. All returned items must be in their original condition: unworn, unwashed, and with all tags attached.

To initiate a return, you can take the item to any Cato store or return it by mail. If returning by mail, Cato provides a pre-paid return shipping label for easy and cost-free returns. Please note that original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Once Cato receives your returned item, they will process the refund to your original form of payment. Refund timing may vary based on your financial institution.

In-Store Returns

To return items in-store, bring the item and your original receipt. Cato associates will assist you with the return and provide a refund.

Returns by Mail

To return items by mail, follow these steps:

  1. Safely package the item in its original packaging or a suitable alternative.
  2. Include the original receipt and complete the return form on the back of the receipt. Provide all necessary information, including your name, contact details, and the reason for return.
  3. Attach the pre-paid return shipping label you received with your order.
  4. Drop off the package at any authorized shipping location or schedule a pickup with the carrier.

Extended Holiday Return Policy

Cato offers an extended return policy for purchases made between November 1 and December 24. The standard 60-day return period is extended until January 31 of the following year. This allows ample time for returns or exchanges during the busy holiday season.

The same rules from the general return policy apply to the extended holiday return policy.

Exceptions and Additional Details

There are a few exceptions to consider. Items such as earrings, pierced jewelry, and intimate apparel cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.

Returned items must be in original condition with all tags attached. Any signs of wear, damage, or tag removal may result in a refusal of return or a partial refund.

If you receive a damaged or defective item, Cato will exchange it for the same item if available. If not, a refund will be issued. Report damages or defects within five business days of receiving the product.

Cato may modify its return policy at any time, and any changes will be communicated through appropriate channels.
