What Makes AGI Different?

Today's AI systems, known as narrow AI, are designed for particular purposes. Generative AI, like ChatGPT, is also a type of narrow AI. These systems can translate languages, recommend movies, generate text, or even detect diseases, but they cannot apply their skills beyond their specialized areas. AGI, on the other hand, would be capable of performing any intellectual task a human can do.
